The subjects are conducted as lectures, practical classes, laboratory classes, diploma seminars, and Engineer/MSc diploma projects.

The Department also participates in the realization of the Doctoral Studies within the Interdisciplinary Doctoral Studies operating by the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Gdańsk University of Technology.

 Laboratory of Robotics

Laboratory of Mobile and Medical Robotics

Equipment: 4x LEGO Mindstorm 1.0, 4x Bioloid, Pionier TE, 4x two-wheel Mobile Platforms, educational robots FisherTechnik

Computer Laboratory

Equipped with 12 computers Lenovo, Intel Core i5 3.2 GHz processor, Windows 10 OS, connected to the department LAN, software: Matlab, Hyperworks, Visual C++, LabView

Laboratory of Material Strength

Equipment: strength testing machinery: INSTRON 8503, range ± 500 kN; LOSENHOUSEN, range ± 150 kN; LOSENHOUSEN, range ± 50 kN; ZD20; ZD40PU24; manual twisting machine ALFRED J. AMSLER & CO, range 60 Nm; Charpy impact machine, range 300 J, MOHR & FEDERHAFF hammer, range 300 J

Laboratory of Machinery Dynamics

Equipment: vibration measurement and analysis system (piezoelectric accelerometers, signal conditioning system with filters and amplifiers, PC computer with analogue-digital card and signal analysis software, manual impact vibration inductor); PC computer with analogue-digital card PCI-DAS1602/16; evaluation boards STK1100 with AVR32 processor + debugger/programm

Laboratory of Automation

The following testing stations, tools and systems are available: tester of the pneumatic logic circuits, tester of the electric logic circuits, ESCORT oscilloscope, location servomechanism, station for testing the temperature control system, station for testing the pneumatic systems, PLC microprocessor controllers - GeFanuc – 4 stations co-operating with the models of real objects (washing machine, crossroads, lift, alarm, thermal object, stepping motor, pneumatic systems); microprocessor controllers Omron – 2 stations, including one module station by SMC, allowing the research of the discreet-continuous regulation process; microprocessor module PLC controller Mitsubishi with programmable operator’s panel, co-operating with the models of real objects (washing machine, crossroads, lift, alarm, thermal object, stepping motor, pneumatic systems); IPC 201c – SMC module station for research of the discreet-continuous control processLaboratory of Automation

Didactic laboratory of hydraulics

The laboratory operates two didactic stations for research of the hydraulic components and systems produced by HERION and two didactic stations: for determining the characteristics of electro-hydraulic components (proportional valves) and for researching the hydraulic components and systems

Laboratory of Hydrotronics and Pneumotronics

The laboratory is equipped with the hydrotronic station for researching the systems with proportional distributor, proportional overflow valve or servovalve; station for programming the stepping motors with PLC controller; station for programming pneumatic actuators with PLC controller; station for programming the position of rodless actuator with PLC controller.

Laboratory of Mechatronics

The laboratory is equipped with mechatronic assembly system MAS200 produced by SMC, hydrotronic didactic station, station for programming the operation of stepping motors.

Didactic laboratory of pneumatics

The laboratory is equipped with the station for the assembly of pneumatic and electropneumatic systems and station with the electropneumatic manipulator. Both stations are equipped with the pneumatic drive and control components, electropneumatic control components, detectors and transducers produced mostly by Festo; additionally, the laboratory operates 5 assembly stations for pneumatic and electropneumatic systems and station with the electropneumatic manipulator.

Integrated research laboratory of hydraulics

Equipment: Universal station for researching the components of hydraulic power transmission systems including pumps, high- and low speed hydraulic engines and gearboxes of maximum power output of 200 kW; stations for researching pumps and hydraulic engines of maximum power output 30 kW, hydraulic components and systems (Qmax <260 l/min), low-speed high-torque motors, phenomena and devices venting the hydraulic systems, hydraulic sealings, components fed by water and emulsion; apparatus for measuring the level of oil impurities, chamber for researching components in low temperatures.

Laboratory of Modelling and IT in Mechatronics

Laboratory is equipped with 20 Intel Core i5 Windows 10 computers and: 20 development board with STM32 microcontrollers with ARM cores; modal research station, machinery vision station; 5 DANI mobile robots, software: MATLAB, Hyperworks, Visual C++, Keil uVision, LabView

Laboratory of Mechatronic Systems and Microdrives

The laboratory is equipped with: station for the assembly and research of mechatronic devices, mechatronic assembly system MAS 200; station with mechatronic systems detectors; station for the assembly and diagnostics of mechatronic components; station for researching microdrives; station for the segregation of microcomponents.
